About Us
In 2008 Daisuke Takagi brought together Kanto based Taiko professionals to form Taiko Kozo. Bringing together the diverse talents of three artists, Taiko Kozo strives for a sound and style that can be enjoyed by audiences domestically and abroad.
2013 saw the release of their first album “ENERGY”, along with the founding of the Taiko Kozo Studio in Kanda, Tokyo. In 2014 Taiko Kozo established our annual Taiko Festival giving amateur groups a chance to showcase their talents.
Member Profiles
Daisuke Takagi
At the age of 12 Daisuke started learning percussion, and at 15 joined a marching band. At the age of 23 Daisuke switched to Taiko, learning from the Kansai based Shukugawa Taiko. Daisuke relocated to Tokyo in 2005 and started his solo career, leveraging his western and Japanese drumming experiences in the pursuit of his unique Taiko style. In 2008 he founded Taiko Kozo.

Tomohiko Inoue
Tomohiko was first exposed to Taiko with the Kawasaki Musashino Taiko Preservation Society, putting on performances to build sister city relationships and spread Japanese culture.
In 1998 Tomohiko along with Jun Takada founded DODON-PA. Together they toured all across Japan collaborating with other artists, making TV appearances, and teaching workshops. In 2006 he joined MUSA, a Taiko Entertainment group pushing new ways to express the art of Taiko.
Tomohiko joined Taiko Kozo in 2011.
